This was where my husband proposed to me (but alas, he was back in Colorado this day), and where I first took my girls to explore sand and waves and shells.

The USS Midway, an aircraft carrier that was launched/commissioned in 1945 and decommissioned in 1992, operated from the end of WWII to the liberation of Kuwait in 1991. Amber is the funny, outdoorsy, ski-lovin’, transplanted Canadian who lives here in Colorado now with her hubby and two young kids. Her favorite stop of 2009 was Crested Butte, and after a visit to her blog to read about it, I can see why.
