Beach Bliss: Aliso Creek

On a perfect February day in Southern California, Jack and I set off for Aliso Beach, long my favorite among So Cal scenic stretches of sand and surf. This was where my husband proposed to me (but alas, he was back in Colorado this day), and where I first took my girls to explore sand and waves and shells.

USS Midway

Welcome to the #1 floating museum (naval aviation) in the world and San Diego’s #2 tourist attraction. The USS Midway, an aircraft carrier that was launched/commissioned in 1945 and decommissioned in 1992, operated from the end of WWII to the liberation of Kuwait in 1991. Amber is the funny, outdoorsy, ski-lovin’, transplanted Canadian who lives here in Colorado now with her hubby and two young kids. Her favorite stop of 2009 was Crested Butte, and after a visit to her blog to read about it, I can see why.
