Family Hike to Grinnell Lake

Is your family thinking of a vacation in Glacier National Park? This is a super-easy, accessible hike for a family in Glacier National Park, and a great choice if you’re staying at Many Glacier Hotel. You can either do it by walking the whole trail (about 6.5 miles), which goes right beside the two small, alpine waterways (Swiftcurrent Lake and Lake Josephine), or taking two boat rides, with a total of about 1.8 miles of walking.

Many Glacier Hotel

We returned to Many Glacier—my favorite part of Glacier National Park—last summer for a mini-family reunion. And this time, we splurged and spent the night at the grand old lodge, rather than truckin’ it all the way back to Kalispell at the end of the day (2.5-3 hours).
